Kappa Community Development Foundation, Inc. is a Maryland non-profit corporation, registered Maryland charity and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 2006, the charitable mission of the Kappa Community Development Foundation is to raise money to fund programs and initiatives designed to assist DMV-area families in need and provide young people with the guidance and resources they need to succeed.

Kappa Community Development Foundation, Inc. manages philanthropic funds that provide college scholarships to DMV-area students and funding for charitable, community and youth mentoring initiatives.

Wayne E. Young, a 1981 initiate of the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and beloved member of the College Park - Sandy Spring Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., dedicated his life to mentoring and teaching young people. Brother Young served as Guide Right Director of the College Park – Sandy Spring Alumni Chapter and built an award-winning program that touched the lives of young men who participated in Kappa League. For his efforts, Brother Young was recognized in 2019 by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity with the Bert V. Wadkins National Guide Right Director Award.

The Wayne E. Young Memorial Fund honors the legacy of Brother Young, an esteemed Kappa Man who exemplified the fraternity’s values of achievement and service.
